Slipstream is a 1989 science fiction film directed by Steven Lisberger, who had previously directed the cult classic 1982 science fiction film Tron. Slipstream reunited Kurtz with his Star Wars lead Mark Hamill, who features alongside Bill Paxton, Bob Peck and Kitty Aldridge, with cameo appearances from Robbie Coltrane, Ben Kingsley and F. Murray Abraham.  Strike Force is a 1975 film directed by Barry Shear and starring Richard Gere. A federal agent and a New York City detective join forces with state trooper to break up a drug ring. Inspired by the real-life theft of the narcotics held in evidence of the French Connection case, discovered missing from the NYPD Property clerk's office in 1972.  The Man Who Cheated Himself is a 1950 American crime film noir directed by Felix E. Feist, and starring Lee J. Cobb, Jane Wyatt and John Dall. A woman (Jane Wyatt) in the process of divorce shoots her husband and gets her police lieutenant boyfriend (Lee J. Cobb) to help hide the body.  The Devil Bat is a 1940 black-and-white American horror film produced by Producers Releasing Corporation (PRC) and directed by Jean Yarborough. The film stars Bela Lugosi along with Suzanne Kaaren, Guy Usher, Yolande Mallott and the comic team of Dave O'Brien and Donald Kerr as the protagonists. It was the first horror film from PRC.[  Murder Once Removed - A doctor and the wife of one of his wealthy patients hatch a plot to get rid of her husband so they can be together and get his money. Starring John Forsythe and Reta Shaw.  We'll cover the other 5 new additions to our catalog tomorrow.   Legendary actor, Laurence Olivier, was born on May 22, 1907 in Surrey, England. Olivier appeared in over 85 film and TV roles. His best known films include Wuthering Heights, Rebecca, That Hamilton Woman, and Pride and Prejudice. Olivier also directed and starred in Hamlet -- and directed, produced and starred in Henry V, Richard III and The Prince and the Showgirl. Olivier died at the age of 82 on Jul 11, 1989 in West Sussex, England and was laid to rest in Westminster Abbey Cemetery in London, England. We have several of Olivier's films on our Roku channels, including The Divorce of Lady X, a 1938 romantic comedy costarring Merle Oberon. You can see this film in a beautifully restored print on RETRO VIDEO VAULT. Happy Birthday to Hollywood great Raymond Burr. Best known for his tv roles as the title characters in both Perry Mason and Ironside, Burr also had quite the successful movie career as well. Also, another entry in the noir genre, from 1956, Please Murder Me!, costarring Angela Lansbury. And finally the 1951 B horror movie, Bride of the Gorilla, costarring Lon Chaney Jr.     Happy Birthday to screen legend Jimmy Stewart (May 20, 1908 – July 2, 1997). Known for his distinctive drawl and everyman screen persona, Stewart had a film career that spanned over 55 years and 80 films. With the strong morality he portrayed both on and off the screen, Stewart epitomized the "American ideal" in twentieth-century United States. In 1999, the American Film Institute (AFI) ranked him third on its list of the greatest American male actors.
